I used Sabrina's reg fix and now have the reg key but again all files are symbolically linked.
In Control Panel the Windows Defender link is there but the icon is not the stone wall but a document with the folded edge similar to the print icon.
I don't care that Defender is not running as Symantec is overriding but would be nice to gain access to all the files for future problems.
