Definitely worth the wait. The bad points are so overshadowed by the good ones, they're almost not worth mentioning.
But I will. Or rushed? Not sure. Something felt off, at the very least. Venkman's "love interest", Ilyssa Selwyn was utterly superfluous and her voice actress Alyssa Milano, I believe was uninspiring and felt out place. At least some sections of the game sewers of the Lost Island, and large swaths of the Central Park Graveyard were verging on being mind-numbingly uneventful.
Again, thankfully, these things are relatively minor in the face of all that went right in a product from an industry where these things almost universally go south. Oh, and one additional thing I feel the need to bring up These people who are marking the game down for not including the multiplayer of the console?
Get over it. They didn't have the funds to get multiplayer going on the PC so I read in an interview. Ghostbusters the Video Game Decent but dated. In Ghostbusters the video game you play as a nameless and voiceless recruit… Perfect opportunity to have a customizable character Your journey starts checking out a hotel and ends up in a chase to shut down this giant ghost portal by taking care of different points across Manhattan. Thankfully it did after I reinstalled A decent and short experience.
It's very much cheese Ghostbusters comedy in which you play a new voiceless recruit. It's Ok but nothing sprcial. It is a travesty and an insult to PC gamers everywhere that Atari and Terminal Reality would release a PC version of this game that does not It is a travesty and an insult to PC gamers everywhere that Atari and Terminal Reality would release a PC version of this game that does not support multiplayer, while they do support it on every other current gen system.

The gameplay and This was one of those games where nearly everything was created properly but then didn't realize it's own potential. Instead we have a decent if not typical storyline I'm not complaining which forces your every move as you're guided along the linear path through segregated chapters Now, that's something that works great with many games and wasn't all that bad here, either.
The problem is that if this particular game wasn't so strict in it's limitations, loosened up a bit, didn't hold back so much with the systems it touched upon it could have been better.
Enhance it by taking it a step further and adding RPG elements and it could have been incredible. To me, Ghostbusters is all about hunting ghosts. I mean, that's the whole point. Yet after the first few levels you're stuck with flying book swarms only acceptable in Castlevania and whatever random creatures better suit the level in a somewhat superficial way.
It actually became a far less interesting game -- not to mention less fun -- when the enemies became more generic video game bad guys. Your various weapons can be further upgraded and tweaked. You respond to randomly generated calls throughout the city for currency all the while discovering clues and new leads for various quests that can take you to unique locations.
I know that sounds like a totally different game, yet many of these ideas are already touched upon with the base game. Anyways, no use daydreaming. It's a shame the franchise hasn't progressively worked and gained momentum with its video games since this release. This is a "must play" for fans of the Ghostbusters films as this game stays faithful to the movies and captures the nostalgia perfectly.
It is This is a "must play" for fans of the Ghostbusters films as this game stays faithful to the movies and captures the nostalgia perfectly. It is very hard to not feel like you are an actual part of the Ghostbusters team as you are wrangling a Class II entity into an open trap below with your realistic proton stream. The atmosphere and overall story is engaging and it is the closest thing to watching a Ghostbusters 3 movie as we will ever get.
There are many flaws throughout the game, and the gameplay does get somewhat repetitive but overall it is an enjoyable experience. I will qualify this by stating that, although I'm well old enough to remember the Ghostbusters heyday back in the early 's, I've always I will qualify this by stating that, although I'm well old enough to remember the Ghostbusters heyday back in the early 's, I've always been rather lukewarm to the whole thing.
The movies were okay, but nothing I wanted to see more than once. Still, I read good reviews and thought "a good game is a good game. The graphics are very nice, and the story is okay, so there's no problem. The problem is with the gameplay. Catching those things is an absolute chore.
I read one professional review where the critic said he "couldn't tell me how much fun it was" to catch and trap the ghosts, and I can only presume he's never played a game that wasn't made for the Atari prior to this.
The actual mechanics of catching and trapping the ghosts is like trying to catch flies with a fishing rod and is about as much fun. Which, is to say, not at all. And that's the main point of the game. Sadly, it turns out that being a Ghostbuster isn't fun at all. Play Video. Negative: 0 out of Nintendo Life. Although Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered does include a handful or two of ideas and ghosts from the first two movies, it does a great job of explaining things enough that someone unfamiliar with the franchise can pick it up and play.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered has some good things going for it. A fun story, excellent voice work from the original cast, and a nice new shine to the visuals, all making the campaign feel solid. The removal of multiplayer and a lack of polish on the cutscenes make this feel a little rushed, though. Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is a good recreation of the famous movie world, with plenty of fun moments between the original cast members and a good variety of enemies to catch.
The game's value starts running out soon enough, though, with its short main game mode and graphics which have few advances compared to the original game. Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered might not do anything new for the Switch version, but fortunately there was already a good game there with a story that any Ghostbusters fan should experience at least once.
So how could it not be the best version to revisit, or to experience for the first time. It's just too bad that no new features were added, that the game lost its multiplayer mode and, most of all, that it wasn't really remastered. Let's just hope that Saber Interactive will keep its promise and add a new multiplayer mode soon.

If you love the original Ghostbusters this is the best time to play this game if you haven't before. The script for this game is from the original writers and with the original cast. I always wanted a third movie and this is as close as we will ever get. The quality of the actors, writing and art-content is amazing. Its so much more enjoyable on modern hardware than when it was released especially the Wii version, which had awful controls.
Its so cool to immerse yourself in the world of Ghostbusters. Its fun just walking around and looking at the art. I personally put the game on casual because I just want to experience the story. The pacing of searching with PKE and then the action scenes is fun. My only gripe with this is that some of the story is almost sexually predatory, which feels weird by todays standards. But its a little dated.
